The Terasem Space Day Colloquium 2021 will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, the anniversary of Apollo 11, via Zoom.

Namrata Goswami, co-author of “Scramble for the Skies: The Great Power Competition to Control the Resources of Outer Space” (2020), and Steven Wolfe, author of “The Obligation: A Journey to Discover Human Purpose on Earth and in the Cosmos” (2015), will be the first two speakers. Their excellent books examine, respectively, plausible scenarios for the next few decades of spaceflight, and why we must (yes, MUST) expand into outer space.

Cometan will discuss Astronism, a belief system centered on space philosophy and metaphysics, inspired by powerful feelings of profound connection to the astronomical world. Natasha Vita-More and Rachel Lyons will present and discuss their views on spaceflight and cultural change.

The Colloquium will be an online event using Zoom. Attendance will be free and unrestricted, but we recommend that all those who want to attend become familiar with Zoom in advance.

If there’s time I’ll also give a 10 minute talk (like this one) based on my new book “Futurist spaceflight meditations.”

I look forward to seeing you on July 20!

The full video recording of the Colloqium will be posted to YouTube.

The previous Terasem Colloquium, focused on the intersection of space expansion, emerging technologies, and human rights, was held on December 10, 2020, via Zoom. Among the speakers, Howard Bloom and David Brin. Watch the full video.
