One year ago, on February 10, 2018, I gave a talk titled “Physics and the Indian Spiritual Tradition” at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture (RMIC), Kolkata, India.

The talk was based on an early draft of my book “Tales of the Turing Church: Hacking religion, enlightening science, awakening technology.” The book is now published and available for readers to buy on Amazon (Kindle and paperback editions).

A transcript of my talk has been published in the December 2018 issue of the Bulletin of the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture. A PDF is available for download.

I wish to thank the RMIC for publishing the transcript of my talk, and sending me copies of the Bulletin. I also wish to thank once again my beloved friend Nupur Munshi (with me in the picture) for organizing the event, the Mormon Transhumanist Association (MTA), and the other sponsors who funded my trip to Kolkata.

See also “Under the spell of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda,” with more pictures, impressions and thoughts.

The conclusion of my talk, from the transcript:

“So putting all together, the idea is that through science and technology we will gain access to the deeper reality and break out from the field of reality in which we have been confined so far, and gain access to another part of reality that we do not perceive right now, but which we could perceive in the future, and within this deeper reality there will be the answers to the big questions that we ask ourselves today including the question — where are the dead people who disappear? The idea is that using science and technology we will become cosmic engineers in God’s control room, transform the universe and resurrect the dead.”
